Cristina has been Managing Partner of Ontier Spain since 2023 and has served as Head of the Litigation and Arbitration Department since 2014.
She has more than 20 years of experience in litigation and arbitration, with a particular focus on disputes relating to construction contracts, infrastructure, and natural resources, as well as M&A disputes, shareholder conflicts, breach and termination of contracts, and professional liability. She has also acted as counsel in domestic and international arbitration proceedings before various arbitral institutions, and has likewise served as arbitrator.
Her experience includes leading highly complex, high-value proceedings, among them one of the largest directors’ liability cases ever brought in Spain, with an amount in dispute exceeding €1.5 billion, as well as litigation concerning the breach of a commercial agreement in the banking sector, also involving claims exceeding €1 billion.
She is ranked by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. She is also a professor at IE (Instituto de Empresa).
Advising in the most important court case in Spanish judicial history on directors' liability, in the context of the sale of a listed company through a takeover bid, for an amount exceeding 1,570 million euros.
Advising an international provider of payment technology and services in a dispute against a Spanish bank, following a change of control accompanied by various contractual breaches, which resulted in a claim for a penalty of €1.05 billion.
Participation in multiple national and international arbitration proceedings before various courts (CEA, CAM, ICAM, CIMA, ICC, etc.) in complex commercial litigation.
